Beautiful trade card showing a group of Japanese women playing cards, with a floral boarder and traditional motifs within; reverse with a black and white scene of the store location. Printed for W.H. Shirokiya, Tailor and Dress Maker, Whole Sale Dealer of Silk Cloth. A great example of the commodifying of "Oriental" culture in the late 19th century, as this advertising card was made for a western audience. General browning and foxing, mild edge wear. Good condition.
