Table to Cane

  • MA0981.1.jpg
$400.00
  • Manufacturer: European
  • Date: 1910s
  • Size: 34.5" long
  • Condition: Good

A collapsible cane that may be opened at both ends, umbrella-style, transforming it into a short table. The table is sturdy enough to hold small props, and with a silk or other cloth on top of it, can be used in reverse; the magician sets objects on the table througout his act, and at its conclusion, picks up the silk, folds up the table (turning it in to a cane) and walks off stage. Finely made from wood, and the first of its type we have encountered. One tiny metal pin at the intersection of the joings is present but loose, otherwise, the prop is in very good working condition. An unusual prop of another era.
