Spirit Manifestations Examined and Explained. Judge Edmonds Refuted; or, An Exposition of the Involuntary Powers and Instincts of the Human Mind. Publisher's brown cloth hard cover decoratively blind-stamped on boards with gilt lettering on spine, 252 pages. The text is a series of lectures given by the author, who throughout his life went back and forth in opinion about the relatity of spiritualism and supernatural phenomena. In this publication he choses somewhat of a middle ground, arguing that the phenomena may be real but not of occult origin, a product of "psychological electrical force" instead. Cloth and boards worn, gilt on spine faded, light spotting throughout. Pen writings to front free end paper. Condition may vary slightly.
