This scrapbook is a comprehensive collection of correspondence and letterheads from magicians, publishers, and distributors of magic related products. The collection includes signatures, handwriting, and early letters from a variety of significant names in the magic world from the early- to mid-1900s. Pieces have been carefully laid in, often layered (in the case of full page letters), and kept in beautiful condition. Please reference photos for some images of some of the specific items of interest. A few of the pieces included are: an early Martinka and Co. note on letterhead (1910); Hamely’s Grand Magical Saloons letterhead (1911); Theo Bamberg (Professionally known as Okito) letterhead with type-written letter; Mysto Magical Mechanicians Company letterhead with hand-written letter (1910); Si Stebbins signature dated 1902; Stanyon and Co. letterhead with signed type-written letter by Ellis Stanyon (1910); Anneman letterhead with signed type-written letter (1925); various pieces from Thayer Manufacturing Co., the earliest dated 1910 and signed; printed form for subscribing to The Sphinx dated 1903 among other Sphinx related pieces; the Conjurer’s Monthly Magazine letterhead with a type-written letter signed “L” (1906); and another Conjurer’s Monthly Magazine letterhead with handwriting that may be Harry Houdini’s (c. 1909).
