The end of a piece of rope is placed into a vase, and it magically becomes connected, as if the genie who lives in the vase has grabbed it. The vase is inverted, and the rope remains in place. The rope is then held, and the vase is allowed to swing from it, the rope still remaining in place. Finally, upon the magician’s command, the genie releases the rope.
