Devil's Head or Satyr Head

Modeled on a design by Martinka & Co., this pseudo-automaton may be the centerpiece of your collection, but is also a reilable, workable prop. The performer has two cards selected, noted, and returned to the pack. The magician then gestures toward the Devil, painted in bright red, and resting on a twisted brass upright affixed to a faux-marble base. As if awakening from slumber, the devil opens his eyes, and then, moments later, one of the two chosen cards appears atop his head, between his curved horns. The devil continues to open and close his eyes, as if contemplating the question, "what about the other chosen card?" Finally, almost as an afterthought, the second selection shoot's from the mouth of the figure. The devil's head closes its eyes at the conclusion, bringing the effect to a fitting end. The molded, hand-painted head conceals a reliable mechanism, and the entire outfit is operated by a simple one-button remote. The figure was modeled on a classic design, and is finely finished. A handsome centerpiece in any library or magic room, and yet one you will be happy to perform with on a regular basis (without fear of over-using a cherished and wildly valuable antique!).
