Wooden Faro card press box with felt lining. Finely constructed with hardwoods, with dovetail joints at the corners and sliding lid. The upper screw can be turned to increase pressure on the cards below to keep them flat when not in use. Includes a space below the cards to house a Faro Box. Lacks the original key (but easily replacable). Hallmarked on the screw “A. Ball & Bro.," indicating that this device was manufactured by a Chicago based gambling supply firm which was a woman-owned company (the "A" stood for "Annie"). Some wear, else in good condition. A very handsome gambling/old west relic and a wonderful and yet still functional display item. This item comes with seven decks of cards as photographed.
