An illuminating and fascinating study of the magic techniques and tricks of fraudulent spirit mediums as first conveived and published by David P. Abbott of Omaha, Nebraska. Revealed in these pages - and accompanied by Teller's lucid and descriptive commentary - are the secrets behind slate writing miracles, the Floating Ball (or Red Ball, as Teller performs it), and a host of other miracles that made up Abbott's legendary performances at his self-proclaimed "House of Mystery." Of the few examples of the deluxe edition to come to market, two have brought nearly $5000 at auction, and the book has long been out of print.
