Porcelain Robert-Houdin Statue

Hand-painted sculpture based on a likeness of the French "father of modern magic", Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin by Spanish artist Lopez Moreno. A boy stands behind the magician, assisting him by handing items to him for production. A rare example of this work and the only we are aware of finished with pastel paint. Hallmarked. With a hardwood base bearing a brass title plaque. From the Ray Goulet collection. A few yellow spots on the magician's cloak, else in very good condition.
