Upon introducing the card case, it is opened and displayed freely. A card is removed. The card and the dry-mark pen are handed to your spectator. He or she secretly marks one of the symbols. Upon retrieving the pen and removing the card from inside the window, you mark four of the symbols through leaving one of the symbols unmarked. Upon your spectator showing you which symbol he or she has marked, you display the card in the window and it is clearly seen that the one symbol left unmarked by you matches the one marked by your spectator.
