First edition. An "advance copy" of an edition limited to 500 copies. Portrait frontispiece, illustrated with photographs. Signed by the author and the photographer Jerry McDermott. Red cloth stamped in blue and black, with later Tannen-issued pictorial dust jacket in protective plastic sleeve. Ex-libris Frederick Shields. Corners slightly bumped, mild soiling to covers, toning to jacket, else in very good condition. The first unnumbered version of the first edition we have encountered.
