An improved version of the Chinese Sticks requiring no sliding weights. The cords in the two sticks move in sympathy to each other when pulled, even though there is no connection between them (in the first phase of the routine, a cord connecting the two sticks is severed, and still the cords react in sympathy to each other). The trick continues to work even when the cords are placed in a short ungimmicked stand that holds them upright, and about 12 inches apart. An uncommon P&L item with the original box for the sticks bearing the handwritten label on the lid. Also includes the original envelope with the extra piece of cord for the "cutting" phase, and a small quantity of extra cord for repeat performances. The stand shows some wear to the red fabric cover, but overall the condition is very good. A SCARCE P&L item; very few of these have survived in this state of completeness. P&L items made from wood are generally less available than their many metal props.
